Council Publishes Original NESS Assessment for Wing
Buckinghamshire Council has published its Stage 2 NESS assessment of Wing, examining the village as a possible location for approximately 1,600 new homes.
Buckinghamshire Council has published its Stage 2 New and Expanded Settlements Study assessment for Wing, known as the NESS.
The document is the Stage 2 Site Pro Formas and Assessment, forming part of the Council’s wider NESS Part 3 work.
The assessment considers land to the west of Wing for a major development of approximately 1,600 new houses. It examines the location under a range of headings, including landscape, heritage, environment, infrastructure, transport, community services and deliverability.
This Stage 2 document sets out the Council’s evidence and assumptions for considering development on a scale broadly equivalent to the existing village.
Wing New Town Action Group is reviewing the assessment carefully. We encourage residents to read the original document and understand what is being proposed for Wing and the surrounding villages.
The full Council Stage 2 NESS assessment can be downloaded below. The approximate 1,600-home figure reflects the proposal being assessed at the time.
